This 19th-century Dutch Bombay chest, sourced in Paris, is crafted from unpainted pine and retains a soft, warm patina developed over centuries of use. The classic bombé form, with its gently curved façade and carved feet, reflects the refined proportions and craftsmanship of the period.
Well-preserved and increasingly difficult to find in this natural finish, this antique European chest offers both historical presence and functional use as a dresser, commode, or storage piece. Its scale and form allow it to integrate easily into a range of interiors while maintaining its identity as a period piece.
Over time, there have been some minor repairs made to the bottom skirt and front left foot.
A distinctive and collectible example of 18th-century European furniture, valued for its authenticity, condition, and enduring design.
