This exceptionally large mustard-glazed Provence tian is a remarkable example of traditional French pottery, essential in kitchens throughout the 1700s, 1800s and early 1900's.

Traditionally used as versatile antique cookware for preparing vegetables, slow-cooked stews, and rustic family meals, the tian embodies both utility and beauty in Provençal pottery. These gorgeous bowls were also essential in the collection of cream. Cream was easily skimmed from the large top surface area after rising from the daily milking.
