This beautiful Napoleon III 18K gold-rimmed compote, c. 1850 - 1870, is in excellent condition with some natural wear to the gold, given its epoch. 

During the period, several European countries were making basketweave compotes, with the Parisian porcelain highly sought after. Many of these basketweave compotes can be found with hand painted designs or gold filigree. 

It is refreshing to find one rimmed in gold in this wonderful condition. The price of $220 reflects the natural wear to this incredible piece. 

I also have a second of these in a round shape, all white, and as a pedestal. It has just arrived from France, and will be available to ship January 26, 2026. I will be posting more photos upon it's arrival, priced at $270.00
